Australasian Digital Theses Project

From the Council of Australian University Librarians, a searchable database of Ph.D. dissertations from Australian and New Zealand universities. Many dissertations are freely available in PDF; some member institutions may charge a fee for full-text access to their dissertations.


Center for Research Libraries

Twenty thousand doctoral dissertations from outside of the United States and Canada are searchable from this site. No full text is available online, but items can be ordered through interlibrary loan by students, faculty, and staff.


Digital Library and Archives

Digital Library and Archives allows searching for citations and abstracts of thousands of theses and dissertations. Free full-text access is provided for a substantial percentage of these items.


Directory of Dissertations in Progress

From the American Historical Association, a directory containing citations to thousands of dissertations in progress from over 170 academic departments in Canada and the U.S. This is a citation database of dissertations in progress in the area of history. has relatively few dissertations and theses in its collection, but the site allows free, full-text access to the first twenty-five pages of each item.


Doctoral Dissertations in Musicology

This is an international database of citations for dissertations in musicology that contains over 12,000 records. Dissertations range from approximately 1950 to the present.


Electronic Theses Online Service (EThOS)

EThOS is the UK’s national thesis service which aims to maximise the visibility and availability of the UK’s doctoral research theses provided by the British Library. Search over 600,000 doctoral theses.


Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertation

Shodhganga : a reservoir of Indian theses

Indian Electronic Theses and Dissertation (called "Shodhganga"), accessible to all institutions and universities, is assigned to the INFLIBNET Centre. The Shodhganga@INFLIBNET Centre provides a platform for research students to deposit their Ph.D. theses and make it available to the entire scholarly community in open access. The repository has the ability to capture, index, store, disseminate and preserve ETDs submitted by the researchers. This site contains about 3,75,545 full text theses.

OATD – Open Access Theses and Dissertations aims to be the best possible resource for finding open access graduate theses and dissertations published around the world. PhdData: The Universal Index of Dissertations in Progress

PhdData has citations from several thousand dissertations in progress from various parts of the world. Requires free registration for use.


SU Theses and Dissertation

Sonar University (SU) Honors and Masters Degree Theses and Doctoral Dissertations include more than 1200 items. Over 1000 of these items are bound in hard-copy format. They are located on the main floor of the Central Library North West Corner. From 2016 and on wards all theses and dissertations are stored in the Library for future reference and study purpose.



Theses Canada Portal


Theses Canada provides access to bibliographic citations for all the theses in the National Library of Canada Theses Collection. Access to full-text theses is available for all items published between January 1, 1998 to August 31, 2002.



UCD thesis collection

In accordance with university regulations, the Library receives copies of all major theses submitted at University College Dublin. The collection comprises mainly doctoral and master's theses by research. In general, those submitted as part of a taught Master's degree are not held. There are however, a number of exceptions to this rule. Please consult your local Information Desk for further information. The James Joyce Library collection includes theses submitted to Human Sciences, Arts & Celtic Studies, Business, Law, Engineering, Physical Science, Agriculture and some Life Sciences.
